When I was in elementary, I fell in love with Amelia Bedelia. The author, Peggy Parish, did a great job of creating a character that is so funny because Amelia did everything literally what she is told to do. For example, if you told her to dust the table, she would throw dust on the table. I know that the young students will enjoy this series of Amelia Bedelia because everyone loves a funny person.
